It’s time to party with a purpose as we launch the first event in the year-long Nana’s Jewels campaign - a benefit performance for the Philadelphia chapter of Dress for Success. Each month in 2012, Ja-Tun will promote a different non-profit organization on her website and via social media. She will also sell

Ja-Tun is hoping to see you at her next show!

CDs at a benefit performance of the organization and donate half the proceeds to that particular charity.

Dress for Success helps women become economically independent by providing them with professional attire along with mentoring.As the Dress for Success website says,

” We are united globally by a common aspiration that has created a movement.

“By helping a woman succeed, we are also helping her children succeed and are making her self actualized. She becomes a “mentor to other women.”

We’re  also excited to be partnering with WearHouse Boutique, a vintage clothing store that specializes in high quality, great prices and encouraging women to “Love Your Body Beyond Measure!”

Nana’s Jewels is a year-long charitable giving campaign that Ja-Tun is conducting in memory of her grandmother, Ann Barnes. Barnes was a model, retail manager and gospel singer who taught Ja-Tun about the importance of living with an “attitude of gratitude.” One of the volunteer activities that was near and dear to Ann Barnes was mentoring African American women who wanted to pursue careers in business, so Dress for Success is an organization that definitely met with her approval. (She also loved shopping in vintage clothing stores.)
